With ever changing potential rain forecasted for both Saturday and Sunday, it was going to be a mystery as to what set up was going to look like. In the end, Saturday morning was a wash out, so set up was pushed a few hours later until early afternoon. It was decided to use the woods course for the match even knowing that the trails and lanes were going to still be a bit mushy. Without our typical match designer, Tyler, for this match, it was left to the neanderthals to select and locate targets on the lanes. The troyer for the course was about 33.4T without wind or lighting factored. There were 11 targets past 45 yards with 9 of those at 50 yards or over.

Sunday turned out to be a rather pleasant day for the match with temperatures in the low to mid 70’s and at times we even saw the sun through the tree canopy. There was very little wind, at least as one could tell sitting on the lanes. Thirty-four individuals, including one junior and one new to our club, gathered on the fly infested lanes in the woods. There were a couple of protested targets which were tested, resulting in one that had to be replaced.

In Hunter PCP the top scores were close with a tie for third place between Cam Armstrong and Conrad Griffith with a score of 52. Cam took the honor with the decision decided by who had the longest hit string. Greg Vaughan took second place with a 53 and Jeff Swartz had a 54 earning him the top spot.

In Hunter Piston Al Duster had a very good score of 45, taking first place. Roger Barker had the top position in Open PCP with 48. WFTF PCP saw Bill Rabbitt snag the overall top score of the match with 56 and Matt Uhler had a very good score of 49 in WFTF Piston.
Dave Hitchcock battled with three others to gain top spot in Unlimited with a 54. We were also joined by a junior competitor, Abigail Mueller, who did a fantastic job at knocking down the close targets with a score of 26.

Everyone gathered after the match to enjoy our typical pizza meal and swap stories. We would like to thank all of those who stayed after to help clean up and move things to our shed out of the way of the graduation party for Ashley’s daughter.

Next up on the calendar in July is our Burning River 120 Grand Prix match. We hope to see many of you there and if you haven’t registered yet, please head over to our website and sign up for what is always a fantastic challenging 2-day match.
Take care all!
